The Pont de Vaux formula is 2 hours practices on Saturday morning and then 3 sessions among which one by night.

Between each session quads are locked into an impound area. Repairs can be made only during the race sessions. Each year, 110 teams are competing in the meadow of Pont de Vaux. The whole paddocks are gathering mechanics, switchboarders, managers, physical therapists, accompanists for material support and of course two or three riders teams. Over these 3 days there are more inhabitants in the meadow than in the town of Pont de Vaux itself (2000 persons). All have things in common the passion for quad and sports. For the different teams, the preparation of the machines is a long term job, everything is finalized several months in advance, tests, changes, practices in order to be at the Top on the D-day as the technical level of the12 Hours is reknown all over the World. Worldwide fitters are making all their best in order to lead their machines to the result they hope. The goal for the teams and the riders is to finish the race and why not be on the podium of the Mondial.

Saturday start of the 1st session
2.50pm : 110 quads on the start grid, “le Mans type” riders are thinking hard and warm up. Everybody is waiting for the flag being dropped and the start of the race.

3.01pm : the Mondial du Quad is launched, the outcome will be for tomorrow.

A lot to be done for the team Banette (n°16). The team from Jura is on the starting blocks with David Bertrand, one of the favorite riders of the events, and his teammates the young Florent Ramel, FMX rider and the strong Pascal de Palma. Concerning mechanichs, we find Dominique Ramel and the team of the Dôle bike dealer. www.suzuki-intermarche.skyrock.com

One of the most titled British rider of the ATV history is making a big comeback on the Bresse stage : "Sir" Paul Winrow. With 3 victories at PDV (92 yet ! 2000, 2001) his prize list is so long... X times UK champion, multiwinner of the Winston Beach the famous British-style "Touquet" etc... For PDV2009 Paul has gathered top riders on Honda 450 TRX prepared by "Winrow", the fast Will Waggott and above all the young Scottish hopeful Leon Beda ((best lap in 2009 ! )

The British, Richard Cole, has a long experience of races and in particular PDV. Now team manager since his victory in 1999, Richard is training and managing young hopefuls of the British quad. This year, it will be the KTM Junior Team with Sheldon Seal and James Hellewell whose race in 2007 was particularly brillant.

KTM Factory, shock team with Tim Farr (13 titles ATV Pro US), Adam Mc Gill the crack driver of the American GNCC (very high category, similar to the enduro championships) and the young British champion Paul Holmes at the moment leader of both UK and European championships on an official KTM 525.

It’s not the first time he takes part to the 12 Hours of Pont de Vaux. Julien Valentin, 20, is becoming one of the inevitable riders of the Mondial du Quad. In 2008, with his team J-F Richard and V. Raimondi, they reached the 3rd step.

Great publicity stunt for the Drag'on team, on top of holding the "number 1" for PDV2009 with the team Romain Couprie / Clément Jay. They will defend their title they won in 2008 after a hard fight on their Yamaha YFM 450 Official 2009/2010, aluminium frame. The Northern team will also enter a second top gun team made by bikers Pierrick Paget / Arnaud Demeester / Samuel Blacke. The Yamaha winners of Le Touquet gathered on the Bresse Arena !

Cozzi : Great ambitions and very good riders for this big team, who had good results in 2008.

As every year, very good regional teams will be on the frontline : the most experienced ones Thomas Bouvard, Arnaud and Tommy Monin with Nicolas Bouvard. Also will be there Vincent Broyer and Jimmy Fèvre on the KTM from Bresse Quad Racing and Simon Peinet on a semi-official Kawasaki prepared and riden by Laurent Denosjean from Quad Neuf 71. Kevin Rostingt, the young Julien’s brother who has died in 2007 on training, will be there with the beginners Charly Cabry and Yoan Chauville.

He leaves near the circuit of Pont de Vaux. With Sebastien Loeb, he has tested it on April 2009. His wish will come true. Citroën Sport agrees that Daniel Elena, great ATV amateur, 5 time champion of the World of WRC Rallyes and Sebastien Loeb’s teammate takes part to the 12 Hours of Pont de Vaux. The public could be judge of his quad rider abilities. He will race with Brice Mazarico a regular rider of PDV – always in the top 8, on a Suzuki 450LTR under the colours of PSR.

J-L Fouchet at work at Pont de Vaux
After the important works in the paddocks during last Spring, it’s the turn now for the track to be reworked under the direction of the master of shaping of all terrain tracks. The circuit of Pont de Vaux seen by JL Fouchet, that’s a regenaration of the track. More up to date, it will suit more to the current machines and the young generation riding, the new track will offer more show and the riders will enjoy it much more.

Fullgaz in the starting blocks !
It's nearly one week before the event, the Fullgaz crew is sharpening the lenses and promises you good reports on this 23rd edition. Not content with being present with the jet in the Freeride planet, the motcross freestyle clip videos, the stunt and supermotard tracks, they come back in the quad cross after several years of absence. Mouvax, the founder, recently confessed us that this sport is not enough recognized. With Fly, the maker of the last videos on internet, they promise to give a new face to the 12 Hours of Pont de Vaux. As for knowing what video they will have in store for us Fly told us " we are going to do our best to retranscribe the nobility of this sport" so be ready.... Helped by Sandy in charge of relationships and marketing at the Fullgaz booth, the crew as the team, is in the starting blocks !
